Schoenburg on the Rhein

Now that you have a good breakfast under your belt, off we go to Schoenburg castle on the Rhein. At the end of your walk around the castle don't forget to have cheese cake and apple crumb cake with your coffee as you wow and ahhh over the view. Most of the locals would then walk back to town but we have to drive to the next town. There is just so much not to miss and so little time to see it ALL. Stay tuned for more to come......

A great day in the old country, Germany that is!

If you ever have the opportunity to go to Germany don't miss the Rhein valley. On a clear pre-summer day it's hard to stop oooooing and ahhhhhhhhhing.
Start your day with good hardy breakfast. Germans love to hike and so enjoy a delicious breakfast first thing. Oh and don't forget to pack a lunch, it tastes so good half way through the morning.

Champagne and Strawberries

What a wonderful combination!

Along with strawberries and champagne a little summer and a touch of Chambord and you get "Sparkling Jam". Now what part of that would you have put together if you had to come up with it by yourself?
For me, I love the out come but creating it was not my gift.

OK I have to tell you it is delicious and what I can imagine in how one might enjoy it. Toast and ice cream of course and.... well you can take it from here. Next time you have a culinary urge (and some extra strawberries) check out the recipe in BHG 5/09. Now I have to go sample just one more time:0)
